My wife bought a KitchenAid coffee maker; it has a strainer inside the top; do I need to put a bag in first?

Or do I just put the coffee grains directly in the strainer?
I’m not sure if that’s the brew basket or the water filter. I found the manual online and it says, “Insert a 10-12 cup flat-bottom
paper filter or the gold tone
permanent filter into the brew
basket. Never use both types of
filter at the same time.”

So I guess I have my answer.

Follow the directions in the manual that came with the coffee maker.

Oh, I forgot: men don’t read instructions or ask for directions.

Have wife do it.
