Product Description
Krups has mastered the key components to the perfect cup of coffee: the grind, the coffee-to-water ration, the brew temperature and contact time. Conical burr grinders are recognized by coffee connoisseurs as the very best method of preparing whole beans for brewing. The Krups KM7000 with 1000 watts has solid steel burrs that turn slowly to protect the flavor of the beans, providing the ultimate coffee results. The brew basket lid closes automatically after grinding to prevent steam from reaching the coffee channel and grinder, thus preventing clogs. In addition, the Krups KM7000 features a conical burr grinder with an automatic functionality; it grinds the coffee to match the number of cups and the strength chosen. The Krups KM7000 conical burr grinder has 5 levels and 3 settings for optimal coffee strength; has a 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10-cup digital settings that control the coffee-water ration; has an aroma function for 2 -4 cups for proper brewing of small coffee quantities; an anti -drip valve for the pause and serve feature; water filtration; high quality 10 cup glass carafe and backlighted LCD with clock and programmable timer.

Stay away this is the worst grind & brew I have ever come across- 1st- where the coffee has to grind into basket for brewing has to be open and the grinds dust flys all over the place- 2nd than the cover is to shut so the brewing can start it jams so coffee never gets made (forget the auto)

can go to 7-11 to get coffee faster. Do not know who thought of this system. they know nothing about coffee making or a coffee hater STAY AWAY!

UNLESS YOU LIKE A BIG MESS TO CLEAN UP BEFORE GOING TO WORK AND NO COFFEE!

Our original Cuisinart Grind and Brew finally bit the dust. We read all of the reviews and decided to try the Krups as a replacement. It is a really nice idea, the basket swings out for the coffee grounds to be funneled in, then swings back to brew, keeping all of the moisture out of the grinder (main problem with the old Cuisinart). Unfortunately the counter gets a spray of grounds as well. True, this isn’t a big deal, not hard to clean up, but who needs more mess on their counter?

I am very disappointed with this machine – you cannot easily change the brew from decaf to regular and I do not like the taste of the coffee – I have tried adjusting the strength and the grind – but it always tastes bad to me, I am going back to Cuisnart!!

I would love to write a review about how this item functioned but that would be difficult as, out of the box, the grinder did not work. Of course, this was on a Friday night so Krups customer service is closed and, conveniently, Ace Photo and Digital (where I got it from) does not accept returns of kitchen appliances. But..it looks really nice and when I grind the coffee myself the coffee tastes good and it is hot (that’s why I gave it 2 stars)

So, after waiting a week to ship and $129.99, I was awarded with a grind and brew coffeemaker that should not have made it past Krups QC. This is strike 2 on Krups as the last coffeemaker I bought from them for a friend (about 10 years ago)was a total paperweight….oh, the lengths one will go to to get a cup of fresh ground coffee …

Anyway, I will deal with Krups, go another week w/o a coffeemaker and if they replace/fix it, I will write a follow-up. But this is just lame.

(If I could have bought this at a store, I could just return it!)

SO, I have had the coffeemaker for a few months now and LOVE it. Not only is the coffee fantastic but also the perfect temperature for the addition of milk and/or cream. Finally, a coffeemaker that makes HOT coffee!

I would say that I was a little disappointed over getting a “lemon” the first time and overall it took about 4 weeks to receive the replacement. However, it was definitely worth the wait and this is a great coffeemaker and have had no problems since.

I can’t change the rating but have to give it 5 stars!

Update: It has been about a year and a half and the grinder failed. While disappointed, I am going to get another one just because it makes such a good cup of coffee. But, I am very disappointed in the workmanship.

I should have known from the start this was a “BAD” coffee maker. When I open the box. The handle on the carafe was loose and the clock was in military time. I called KRUPS and told them about the carafe. They sent me a new one A.S.A.P. Than a couple of months later the grinder started to go off and on. I called KRUPS again told them how the grinder was acting. They told me that I had to send it to one of their factory outlets so they could inspect it to fix the problem. I asked if we could just exchange the product. They told me NO!! THAT I HAD TO SHIP IT TO THEIR OUTLET. Than the grinder started to work again. But, when daylight saving time, came about. I tried to change the time on the clock and it would not let me. NOW, the grinder is working, somewhat O.K. And the clock is still in military time. But, it will NOT brew the coffee!!!! And, I have seen in the past that I am not the only one that has experienced this problem. You would think a company as big as KRUPS is, would stand behind their product a little bit better than this. I have own KRUPS coffee makers before, had no problems with them. But, I wanted a coffee maker that had the grinder built in with the coffee maker. When I found that KRUPS made one. And, AMAZON had it on sale. I jump to get it. Thinking I was getting a GREAT product!!! Boy was I WRONG on this one………. You would think paying $130.00 you would get a GOOD product. And, that the manufacture would stand behind its product. NOT IN THIS CASE!!!! KRUPS dropped the ball on this one………I do have to say. When working CORRECTLY it dose make a GOOD cup of coffee. I am going to try a Cuisinart coffee grind and brew this time around. I would advise you do the same……………………….
