After two years, the pot abruptly stopped working – and I only brew 3 cups every now and then in the morning. I have reported this to consumer report who have responded many same complaints.

I was pretty impressed by this little guy. The only problem is that it doesn’t have automatic turn off and it can get pretty hot if you leave it on. But the coffee tastes good-it’s easy to use and it’s small. I like it!

I didn’t think I’d miss the pause-n-serve, but I do. I like the permanent filter basket, it lets more coffee solids through for a more flavorful cup. But just when you think it’s safe to pour, it dribbles. There are also two holes in the back just above the 5-cup waterline. If you fill it and move it back under the cabinet, you may splash some water through these holes. The unit does not shut off automatically either. I do like the way the basket lifts entirely out of the unit. Do yourself a favor, spend an extra 5 bucks and get a different model.

I HATE to give negative reviews, but this one warrants it. Black & Decker DCM675BF 5-Cup Drip Coffee Programmable Maker with Permanent FilterI purchased this item 7 months ago. The first one that came had the control pad installed upside down. My husband said “go ahead and try it, we can get used to it.” Well I don’t think we could get used to the electrical arc, pop, smell, and the unit INSTANTLY getting incredibly hot. Needless to say, I unplugged it and contacted Amazon. As always, they were great. Sent out another item without waiting to get the first one returned. This morning, when I was pouring my coffee, the handle broke off completely and needless to say made a huge mess (didn’t know 5 cups of coffee could go so far). Fortunately, I didn’t get burned, but clean-up made me late to work and now I am out a pot. I’m glad to give Amazon high marks, but VERY disappointed with the coffee maker.
